We visited Edgar and his family today. Edgar is a student at Escuela Integrada. He lives with his mother and two brothers in a one room home on top of a mountain outside of Antigua. His grandparents (abuelos) live close by and joined us for our visit. We brought a bag of food and cleaning supplies. The family were very welcoming and answered all of our questions. Edgar's mother hopes that he will one day go to Universidad (college) so that he can find a good job but to even go to secondary school (high school) costs money that the family does not have. Edgar's mother makes 100 pounds of tortillas a day to support her family. Despite the financial struggles, the family appeared happy and have the support of their local church (which meets in a field). We ended our visit with a prayer (oracion). What a blessing to have the opportunity to meet this wonderful family. Thank you Bethel for your support of this mission.-Beth
